Client Moments: Josh’s Christmas Story

The bells clanging with joy as Christmas was coming, hollies with red berries warning
of the cold snow coming to play. Warm mince pies and hot drinks as we sit by the fire,
Nan in her rocking chair knitting a blanket for a new born baby, and Grandpa telling us
stories of a big man in a red suit and long white hair smoking his pipe.

As Grandpa was about to tell us about the reindeer, all heard a loud steam whistle from
outside.

White steam poured out from each side, smoke puffed from its stack, a brass bell
rang loudly to warn people that it was coming through: it was the Christmas Train special!

A bright light shines in the snow as the mighty large steam locomotive named Murdoch,
with a tender full of coal and 10 long coaches, came to a halt outside our house. Murdoch
breathed out and steam shot out either side. He whistles loud to say “It’s safe to come out!”

In the 5th coach stepped out a big red suit, big boots and a long white beard: It was Father Christmas, with his big booming voice: “HO HO HO! Merry Christmas Everyone!”

The conductor looked at his pocket watch and said, “I’m sorry sir, it’s time to go.”

As Father Christmas got on the coach, he waved and chuckling he smiled to everyone, saying, “I will be back next year!”

Murdoch rang his bell, and whistled loud and long as people kept clear. His wheels slipped,
struggling to get the train going but Father Christmas helped with his magic and sent sand
onto the rails. Murdoch got grip and was on his way!

Everyone clapped and cheered and waved goodbye, as the Christmas Train was out of sight,
seeing its tail light.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
