Digital Skills: Empowering through technology
In today’s world, digital literacy is essential. Our Digital Skills Training program equips individuals with disabilities with the knowledge and confidence to navigate technology, enhancing their ability to connect, learn, and thrive in the digital age. By providing the opportunity and resources to get online safely, use of digital devices, and find essential information, we are significantly enhancing the wellbeing of the disadvantaged individuals we can reach.

There is a real need for support like this for older people like me who did not grow up with computers and smartphones, and who need help when things go wrong. My trainer is very easy to get on with and always puts me at ease, so I never feel anxious even when I’m struggling to learn something new. Thank you for all your support.
Accessible Transport: Removing Barriers to Mobility
Transport is a crucial aspect of independence. Compaid’s Accessible Transport provides safe, reliable, and accessible transport options for individuals with disabilities or limited mobility, enabling them to engage fully in their communities, access medical appointments, and socialise with friends and family.

delivered by our community transport service across Kent’s districts in the last 12 months.
90% of our passengers reported a reduced feeling of loneliness
Feedback from our passengers showed high levels of satisfaction, with many noting the importance of our reliable service in their daily lives and the friendships they have made whilst travelling with us.
Increased transport options
Partnership with Kent County Council, Age UK, local parish councils and many more groups in our community enabled us to deliver increased transport options for everyone.

I’m 91 now, and where I live is very isolated from local amenities. I used to have a car, but it’s old so repairing it now just wouldn’t be worth it, especially with other bills I’m paying for. I’m fortunate to still be healthy but I do get very tired, so I stopped driving in January.
I found out about Compaid’s Out & About buses, which are so convenient for me. This door-to-door service now gets me to Waitrose and the post office each week, without wearing me out, and I no longer need to rely on my daughter
Looking ahead
Compaid is dedicated to continuously enhancing our Digital Skills Training and Accessible Transport. In the coming years, we aim to:
- Expand our Outreach Training by 20%, reaching even more isolated and disadvantaged people across Kent Sustain current levels of passenger numbers for our door-to-door transport, and increase as funding becomes available.
