What You Can Learn

Device Navigation

The most essential digital skills are gained on the foundation of knowing how to use your devices. Our trainers will help you learn how to:

  • navigate your phone, tablet, laptop, or computer confidently
  • find and adjust the settings needed for comfortable use (such as brightness, screen text size, speech-to-text functionality, etc.)
  • understand and use apps such as email, WhatsApp and other social media to communicate with others through messaging, audio or video calling

Essential Digital Skills

With so many services and resources based on or migrated to the internet, knowing how to access them is crucial to living more independently.

Our trainers can help you learn how to:

  • use browsers such as Chrome or Microsoft Edge to navigate the internet safely
  • open or access your bank online, and shop online safely
  • browse websites to access the information, training, education and support you need
  • access professional services such as home maintenance apps, online healthcare information, government & local authority support services, and more

Digital Skills for Work

In today’s job market, having digital skills is essential for most jobs, but gaining them can be overwhelming to do alone.

Out trainers will help you learn how to:

  • develop and write strong CVs and cover letters, and prepare for job interviews face-to-face
  • use job searching websites, and fill in online forms
  • use Microsoft Office programmes (such as Word, Powerpoint, etc.), Zoom, Teams, and other online platforms
