Volunteering
Whether you can spare a couple of hours or a couple of days a week – we would love to hear from you! Our volunteers play an essential role in providing us with some of their valuable time. In turn we can provide work experience and the opportunity to learn new skills.
So...
Would you enjoy being part of a friendly, sociable team, providing support to our clients in our Activities Centre, in our Accessible Transport service as a driver or drivers escort or supporting people in their own homes?
Would you like to learn new computer programs (including painting) or brush up on old skills?
Would you get a buzz from making sure our clients get to their appointments safely and comfortably?
Could you spare a few hours to help with collections or to take part in a fundraising event?
We currently have the following volunteer opportunities. In each case there is full training and we pay travel expenses (locally).
Activities Centre Computer Assistant
Are you good with people and would like to be part of a dedicated team helping our clients to gain in confidence and ability?
Could you support disabled people by helping them to learn or relearn computer skills?
We are seeking volunteers to help at our morning and/or afternoon weekday sessions.
Minibus Driver
Could you drive a specially adapted minibus to collect people from home to go on special trips, social events and to day centres?
Can be full day or for a half day.
Must be 25 years and over. MiDAS training given.
Our Transport Service provides a vital lifeline to many local disabled and elderly people each year and we also need Escorts to assist on our minibuses at various locations in West Kent.
As there is more than one opportunity, exact details are available on request.
If you would like to find out more about any of these opportunities, please email judith.williams@compaid.org.uk or call 01892 834539.
