There are two main types of legacy you might leave us in your will. They are:

Residuary legacy – this is a gift of the remainder of your estate after all other gifts have been made and debts cleared.

Pecuniary legacy – this is a gift of a fixed sum of money in your will. The value of a pecuniary legacy can change over time due to inflation.
